We had dinner with Katie and Kate on Friday night at Red Robin. It was a fun evening but some (unnamed) grownups said that I watched too much of the TV that was on in the restaurant. Hmmm.

Today is Superbowl Sunday and we're invited over to Mary's house (Mary is a friend of Mummy's from her work) to watch it. Maggie will be there so I'll have someone to play with.

Check out my recent addition exercises and my spelling test. I got 100% on the spelling test.

Report card

I got my quarterly report card from Ms Maples today. She is very pleased with my performance. Here's the report:

Reading: Zoe is doing such a good job with reading. She uses word attack skills to sound out unfamiliar words. She has a long list of sight words that are recognizable within our daily readings. She has excitement and motivation which paired with her skills has increased her reading fluency and success. I am impressed.

Writing: Zoe is able to use the writing process, inventive spelling, or dictionary help to form good sentences. She often chooses to write independently during her free time. I am excited about Zoe's writing success.

Math: Zoe is able to apply her understanding of measurement with both standard and non-standard measurement tools. She is excited and motivated about our current focus which is beginning addition.

Science: Zoe recognizes the changes of the four seasons. She is able to read a thermometer with some help. She understands and explains temperature and weather changes at an appropriate level.

Social Studies: Our focus on different holiday celebrations, customs, and stories was a favorite with Zoe. She participated in all discussions and added to everyone's experiences.

Additional comments: Zoe is a very good student. She adds a great deal to our classroom.

Today I discovered something very interesting. I've always loved my little purple blankie that I've had since I was born. I was looking for something (I'm tall enough to reach the top drawer in Mummy's dresser) and instead found two other blankies! It turns out that I have three of them, all nearly identical!

Mummy & Daddy were expecting a fissure in the space-time continuim to open up (like if you were to meet yourself), but apparently that didn't happen. Mummy tried to explain that she was just making sure that my blankie didn't wear out, but I don't care - I just love my blankies!

On Wednesday afternoons, after school but before my parents pick me up, I go with some of my school friends to Taekwondo at a local studio, organized by my school. Today was special - we were doing our testing to move up to the next belt. I was already on my yellow-stripe white belt. Mummy & Daddy came to see me do my test (along with all the other parents) and they were most impressed. I am now a black-stripe white belt.

Zoe and her staff took most of the photos and wrote most of the text. So there.
